Carlos
Clesca hails from Brooklyn, New York and is based in Switzerland
since 1996. He started writing and producing in 1987. Of his
many talents he counts acting, dancing, rapping and writing
music the as dominating ones. In his youthful days he won a
role in ABC TV network’s series 'City Kids' being on every Saturday
morning. Carlos was a dancer for MTV’s famous show ‚The Grind‘.
After that he started working with the 'CELLA DWELLAS' and also
the 'BUSHWACKAS'. From 1996 on, there where several gigs with
his crew during that time: 'IN NEW VIBES'. This crew was opening
for GURU, THE ROOTS, COOLIO, THE FUGEES, and others during the
years that followed in addition to them headlining their own
gigs. In 1998, Carlos got together with Lyonel Brokey. Together
until now they form DREAD EVENT. Also in 1998, IN NEW VIBES
landed a record deal with ZYX records and as a consequence,
the single 'Life isn’t simple' was released. That track made
it on the 'Paarungszeit' soundtrack. Other singles for IN NEW
VIBES were 'Children of Sanchez' and 'Shadow Walkers'. 'Shadow
Walkers' was featured on the 'Desired Effects' soundtrack. IN
NEW VIBES appeared live on VIVA TV in Germany. Following in
2000 was a MTV promotion for a film entitled ‚Save the last
dance‘. At the same time Carlos won a role in a film called
'Hundredth Central Street'. After that was a promotion for a
Beatles documentation with Kevin Spacey. Carlos Clesca then
established an independent record firm called Chill-Citi with
Bert Ross in 1999. Chill-Citi specialized in promotion and management
of artists. Chill-Citi offers artists with high potential assistance
with developing their self in a positive way. During the last
13 years, Carlos and Bert accumulated some music business know-how.
Bert, from Long Island, New York, worked as a host for Radio
WHQT 97.1 (better known as Hot 97). Bert and Carlos were also
the opening 'Hooliganz' for folks like MASTER ACE, K-SWIFT,
and LORDZ OF THE UNDERGROUND on Hot 97. In 2001, A.M.A.D. -
while actually on holiday - did some well visited shows in Cuba,
leaving people to cry when he left. They simply loved his style
so much. During all these years, Carlos has learned about the
ups and downs for an artist in 'the biz', as well as the superficiality
often involved. That's where the name A.M.A.D comes from: A.M.A.D.
= A Man Attacking Daemons. A.M.A.D has matured through his experiences
into a serious MC.
